Ideation and Wireframes
digital wireframes
After ideating and drafting some paper wireframes, I created the initial design for the Feelingo app. These designs focused on explaining emotions in a bite-sized way to make them more approachable to kids to learn about.

before usability study
Based on the insights from the usability study, I applied corresponding images to emotions, sensations and alternate emotions to better convey to kids what the emotions look like.
after usability study

With the app designs completed, I started work on designing the responsive website. I used the Feelingo sitemap to guide the organizational structure of each screen’s design to ensure a cohesive and consistent experience across devices.

Impact and Positive Outcome
Users shared that the app helped them learn about their emotions. One quote from peer feedback was that “the Feelingo app lets both kids and adults learn a little bit more about their emotions in an easy and playful way."
What I learned
I learned that designing for both a mobile app and responsive website is a massive undertaking. It takes a lot of planning and research to get from point a to point b, but the end result is very worth the effort.
